Dr. Christine Jenkins

At HART: Christine came to HART three years ago when her daughter became a working student, helping her and watching her daughter grow in the program. She watched her daughter retrain her quarter horse and also restart her Off-The-Track-Thoroughbred (OTTB) in his new eventing career.  At HART-attended eventing shows, Christine became an extra show Mom and supplied veterinary advice and support, and discovered how much she loved OTTBs,  and wanted to help forward HART’s mission to rehabilitate, rehome, and rescue these animals.

Off the Clock: Christine helps support her daughter in her eventing career and encourages her passion for the care of horses. She is also mom to a son in high school. Christine now rides her daughter’s retired horse in the Mounted Posse program, along with enjoying her dogs and cats at home.

Background: Like so many, Christine grew up in Merritt Island, with her father working for NASA. She began riding horses on and off since high school and college.  Christine attended local schools and colleges and graduated from University of Florida with her Veterinary degree.  After specializing and working in Emergency and Critical care, she returned to general practice and shelter medicine.
