At HART: Dawn came to HART two years ago as a volunteer and fell in love with the rescue horses. She’s had a love for horses most of her life and found herself missing her life with horses when her daughter moved out and started her own family. In working with the Off Track Thoroughbreds (OTTB) she’s found what she calls her Happy Place. Earlier this year the position of President came open and with Dawn’s vast experience in Government contracting and Program Management she felt she could help the organization find new funding sources and manage the difficulties presented by rising feed, hay and facility costs. Dawn hopes to continue the amazing work being done at HART and grow the program while carrying on the mission to rehabilitate, rehome, and rescue these animals.
Off the Clock: Dawn spends much of her time with her family, especially her granddaughter of almost 2 years. While not at the barn she enjoys camping trips with her husband and kayaking and boating through the amazing Florida waterways.
