BOARD MEMBER
Karin Taylor
At HART: As a potential adopter from HART, Karin was so impressed with the program and the mission of HART that she became a donor. She sponsored stalls for rescued OTTBs and donated to launch a therapy program at HART. As a board member at HART, Karin looks forward to sharing her unique perspective and combination of skills and resources to continue to support and propel the mission of HART.
Off the Clock: Karin is the wife of a road warrior CEO, homeschool mother of 5, animal lover, and traveler with a sense of wanderlust. Although she didn’t take up riding until her 40’s, Karin has fallen madly in love with horses and riding. She drives miniature horses, rides English and western and is particularly fond of the unique bond and magic that happens when working with a horse at liberty.
Background: Karin is the co-founder of the Weisberg Family Foundation, a private philanthropic organization whose mission it is to serve the disadvantaged through the combined use of volunteerism and financial support. Karin manages the day-to-day running of the foundation as well as developing the foundation’s own programs both locally and internationally.
In addition to the foundation, Karin opened Weisberg Stables, a 20-acre private equestrian facility and farm, in December 2015. This 18 stall facility is now home to 22 horses, 3 donkeys, 3 goats, 4 rabbits, 2 pot-bellied pigs, a wallaby, 5 emus, and a variety of chickens and turkeys.
In keeping with her family’s belief that everything you are given (your time, your talents, and your resources) is never meant just for you, it’s meant to be shared; Weisberg Stables shares their farm and animals with at-risk youth and children in group foster care.
