Volgistics System Administrator
AT HART: After several years of creating the HART Volunteer Schedule every week, Sue took on the role of System Administrator for our web-based Volgistics Volunteer Information Center. Since the system now allows volunteers to schedule themselves, Sue is concentrating her efforts on making sure everyone can use the web portal easily and with no hassles, and is looking forward to creating new applications for other business uses. She is using her knowledge of computer systems and databases to support the development of applications to track, log, communicate and manage various aspects of running a horse rescue.
OFF THE CLOCK: Sue has lived in Brevard County since 1979, and makes her home in Merritt Island where she raised her wonderful son as a single mother. Sue has three little Chihuahuas who keep her company at home these days, and considers herself to be happily semi-retired while she continues to work part-time documenting aerospace certifications for SpaceTEC in Cape Canaveral. A horse lover for as long as she can remember, Sue grew up in metropolitan America and, other than trail rides, never had the opportunity to experience horses up close and personal. Sue is thrilled to contribute in her own way to the rescue and rehoming of off-the-track thoroughbreds, and to have the opportunity to learn to ride and work with the horses. In this way, HART has allowed her to fulfill a lifelong dream.
BACKGROUND: Sue worked as a Human Resources administrator on the Space Shuttle Program at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center for over 30 years. During that time, she reached the pinnacle of her career and earned her certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and is an avid fan of Mizzou football (go Tigers!).
