Kyra Mecum

At HART:

Kyra has been with HART for a year as one of our main instructors who has  35 years experience training several disciplines (Dressage, Hunter/Jumpers, Western & English pleasure and equitation, Reining, Showmanship, lower level eventing) and has taught all levels of riders.  Kyra has trained under World Class International Equestrians and Olympic riders including Betsy Steiner and Kathy Connelly (world re-knowned and international Dressage rider, trainer, judge and broadcaster).  Kyra herself has attended the FEI Winter circuit two years in a row and competed at the highest levels of dressage and hunter/jumper winning several Regional Championships earning her Bronze Medal in the US Dressage Federation and half way to her silver.

Kyra has been working with “problem” horses and their riders since she was 15yrs old. She truly enjoys breakthrough moments with both the equine and human students. She has had her equestrian instructor license since she was 16yrs old and has taught a large variety of Children with special needs; many kids on the Autism spectrum included.

Kyra has a Masters Degree in Biology and is working on her Graduate Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
