Friends of HART,
I wanted to send you all an update on what’s happening at the barn. We are pleased to see Irma continuing to trend a bit further east at this time. We are 99% certain to keep the horses on our property.
Volunteers are still appreciated to help remove jumps from the arena and secure loose items. Horses need to be fed even during storms! Volunteer orientation on Saturday, the 9th HAS BEEN CANCELLED. It will be rescheduled.
Suzee and family will be staying off location until it is safe to drive back on the roads and return to HART to check on all the horses. We also have a super-volunteer who lives on the next street over and will keep us updated as she peeps out her back windows to see the rescues.
It looks like many of the interstates are beginning to fill up and finding empty stalls is becoming harder and harder for other local equestrians. Our thoughts go to them as they seek shelter and safety for their horses.
One of our volunteers was telling me about an awesome product that she has for her horse called Manestay. I wanted to pass along the information and link to our friends. It may not help during this hurricane but it would be nice to have on hand for future hurricanes. It never hurts to be extra prepared every hurricane season.
Everyone stay safe! I will continue to update as I can.
Robin
